MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Christians are called by God to make a difference in the nation, communities, work place, homes and the Church. What we do and what we say must be different to those in the world, a people who are in darkness. The light of Jesus must shine in Christians.  Jesus said “Let your light so shine among men that they may see your good works and glorify the father which is in heaven.

We were created by God to make his praise glorious.

JUDE 1:22 (NKJV) -

Mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.

Compassion moves you to do, sorry does not do or move you to do.  Jesus saw the multitude and was moved with compassion towards them because he saw their spiritual condition. Sheep without a Shepherd.  We must see through the eyes of the Holy Spirit.

People are attracted to the super-natural, the extra ordinary, not the natural or the ordinary.

LUKE 4: 16 – 22 (NKJV) -

16So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. 17 And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:

18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

20 Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. 21 And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.” 22 So all bore witness to Him, and marveled at the gracious words which proceeded out of His mouth. And they said, “Is this not Joseph’s son?”

The people wandered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth and they say “Is not this Joseph’s son.”  They knew Jesus as Joseph’s son. Mary his mother, brothers and sisters they knew. They knew Jesus as the carpenter’s son. They saw him as ordinary.  At the age of thirty (30) the Jesus they knew as the carpenter’s son began operating in the extra ordinary, in the super natural and everywhere he went he was making a difference.

What cause this change, what made him to move from the ordinary, natural into the extra ordinary or the supernatural? The answer is the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit makes the difference between the ordinary and the extra-ordinary.  Jesus was anointed to operate in the extra ordinary

LUKE 4:1 (NKJV) -

Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness

And Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit. He received the Holy Spirit without measure.  Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit to be tempted by the devil. Jesus passed every test.

LUKE 4:14 (NKJV) -

Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went out through all the surrounding region.

And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee. He is now operating in the extra-ordinary.

 ACTS 1:8 (NKJV) -

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

You shall receive power after the Holy Ghost fills you and you shall become witnesses unto me.

BE PREPARED TO FACE MANY PROBLEMS WHEN YOU BEGIN TO OPERATE IN THE EXTRA ORDINARY.

When these things happen to you, think it not strange or something is wrong with you. There are places that people will accept you and there are places people will neglect you. Most of the time among your own.

Note: You do not pelt a tree unless it has fruit in it. So to with our lives. When we are fruitful people will pelt us.

TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE THE WORD MUST BECOME REMA.

LUKE 4:32 And they were astonished at his doctrine for his word was with power.

LUKE 4:36 And they were all amazed, and spoke among themselves, saying what a word is this for with authority and power they commanded the unclean spirits and they came out.

The listeners were astonished and amazed because of the authority and power of the spoken word. The Holy Spirit must quicken the Word.  The Bible declares that the letter killeth but the Spirit giveth life.

a)      The letter is the logos word.

b)      The Word empowered by the Spirit makes the logos word a rema word.

When the Word becomes rema, empowered by the Holy Spirit and people believe the Word, signs and wonders will follow.

TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIFE OF OTHERS, YOU MUST BE DIFFERENT

Mark 1:22

And they were astonished at his doctrine for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.

a)      The Word was taught with authority

b)      The Word was taught not like the scribes or religious people, not as the tradition of the elders.

Make a difference today. Begin with you. Remember the difference between the ordinary and the extra ordinary, the natural and the super natural is the ANOINTING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.
